kwag - 4 weeks, 4 games

Posted on

Almost a year after taking on the worst gamedev challenge , I wanted revenge.

So, in 2022, I teamed up with my little brother to make 4 games in 4 weeks.
He did the music, I did the code.
Most importantly: we took weekend breaks.

With more time per game and a dedicated music composer, the expectations were higher.

So — what did we make?

By the way, here is the original Twitter thread , if you wanna drop a ♥!

Week 1 - Wordle Bobble

In this Puzzle Bobble-like, you shoot letter bubbles to form words.
Form words to burst the bubbles, clear the level, and win!
The joker bubble can replace any letter.
The bomb bursts every adjacent bubble.

Week 2 - Shoot, click’n’clap

A Clicker × FPS where your progression gradually builds a music track.
Aim well, shoot in rhythm, upgrade your tracks, and dance along! (last part optional)

Week 3 - Lezgon

A musical shoot’em up where enemies move and shoot in rhythm.
The music evolves with your performance — you’re stuck in each loop until you’ve defeated every enemy at least once.

Week 4 - Elden Roulette

A Clicker × Souls-like where battles are resolved by Russian roulette.
Fight or flee? Spend or save?
Every click brings you closer to glory — or total loss.

Conclusion

That was hard, but way less brutal than 30d30g !
The weekend breaks really made a difference.

We had a great time overall — though there were a few bumps.
(Like that one week when we only realized halfway through that we had two different games in mind.)

We’re pretty proud of the resulting 4 little games, and hope you’ll like them too!
